What the test covers

Every part follows the official CELPIP-General format, and each one is timed on its own clock. This diagnostic is a sample — one part per skill — while the full CELPIP-General runs Listening in 6 parts, Reading in 4 parts, Writing in 2 tasks and Speaking in 8 parts.

    One 45-second conversation, played once. Then 4 multiple-choice questions on the details you heard.

    In the full exam: Listening runs in 6 parts — conversations, news, information, and a discussion — with 38 questions in all.

  2. 2Reading

    Reading to Apply a Diagram (Part 2): a short email beside a schedule table, then 3 questions that ask you to match details across both.

    In the full exam: Reading runs in 4 parts — correspondence, apply a diagram, reading for information, and reading for viewpoints — with 38 questions in all.

  3. 3Writing

    53:00

    2 typed tasks — a complaint email and a survey choice — each 150–200 words, with a live word count and a suggested time for each.

    In the full exam: Writing stays the same 2 tasks — an email and a survey response — for 53 minutes in total.

  4. 4Speaking

    6:00

    3 spoken tasks, from giving advice to persuading your family, each with its own preparation and response timer.

    In the full exam: Speaking runs in 8 parts — describe a scene, tell a story, give advice, and more — in about 15 minutes.

How the clock works

  • A section's timer starts the moment that section opens.
  • When a timer reaches 0:00, the exam moves on to the next section by itself.
  • You can move on early with "Next section", but a closed section cannot be reopened.
  • There is no pause button and nothing is saved halfway — plan on one sitting.

What your results show

  • An estimated overall CELPIP level on the official 1–12 scale
  • A separate estimate for Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking, each shown as its CLB level
  • What you did well, plus specific fixes for the sections that pulled you down
  • The report on screen straight away — no account, no email, no payment
